The tech giant Microsoft registered a series of patents to give shape to an innovative project that will allow to control a computer or an electronic device with the mind.
According to the MS Power user site, the documentation for the patents was published last week and they have several filing dates, the most recent being made during May. All are related to the use of the mind, as the primary control device for a probable computer system.
The three patents come from the development team of HoloLens and Surface, that is, those that deal with mixed-reality glasses and the computer-tablet hybrid of the Redmond Colossus.But there is a patent, entitled “Modification of a user interface based on brain activity and the user’s gaze”, which explains how an application could automatically adjust its user interface (UI) according to the user’s thoughts.
For example, using mind control, a worker could see an instruction manual or play a video, without having to physically interact with their device. At the same time. Information workers can also benefit from technology by being able to move away from the keyboard, allowing them to enter data at the speed of their thoughts.
In another patent, the tech giant Microsoft describes how applications could change their status in response to their neurological activity. This would allow the program to interpret your look or thoughts as different forms of intention data.
The third, however, appears as a portable device such as HoloLens that can highlight framed objects based on the brain activity of a user.
So far, the company based in Redmond did not disclose when it will start using these patents or the final product that will result from its implementation.
